Abstract:
Objective In response to the methane emission problem during the natural gas treatment process of purification plants, the pilot of methane leak detection and repair (LDAR) technology was carried out to study its effect of methane emission reduction. Method By conducting methane leak detection and remediation in natural gas purification plants, and comparing the methane emissions before and after remediation, the application effect of LDAR technology in methane emission reduction in natural gas purification plants was determined. Result A leak detection was conducted on the natural gas purification plant equipment, and a total of 57 methane leakage sealing points were found. The total methane emissions of the plant were 11 696 kg/a. After repairing the leakage points, the methane emissions decreased to 531 kg/a, reducing methane emissions by 1 1165 kg/a, and the emission reduction rate reached 95.46%. Conclusion In response to the methane emissions from natural gas purification plants, leak detection and remediation have significantly reduced methane emissions, providing reference for the promotion and application of LDAR technology in methane emission reduction in the oil and gas industry.
